Seven Days of Shindigs #6 Ginuary, Schwingen Sixties & Soulful Sundays

Hello, and welcome to Brewhemia’s roaring 20s!

Our Hogmanay extravaganza made the ultimate start to the decade, and we’re pleased to say that we mean to go on in exactly the same way. That means tons of delicious dining, a whole host of exciting events and some seriously debauched entertainment to look forward to. But we wouldn’t want to give everything away at once, so for now, take a look at the treats we’ve lined up for the coming week…

13th – 19th JANUARY

Ginuary has been an absolute ball so far, and we’ve very much enjoyed working with some of our very favourite gin brands to bring you two weeks of perfect serve menus. This week, we’re delighted to welcome the brilliant irreverence of That Boutique-y Gin Company. Known for their inventive flavours and hand drawn labels, each serve on their menu is wonderfully unique. In this blog, we’ll hone in on two particular serves that we think you’ll find extremely interesting!

Moonshot is wholly unique, in that it’s the only gin in the world that features botanicals sent into near-space (hence the name!). Featuring Juniper, Coriander, Chamomile Flowers, Fresh Lemon Peel, Cardamom, Dried Bitter Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Cubeb Pepper, Liquorice Root and Angelica and Moon Rock. Obviously. Once they returned to earth, they’re vacuum distilled at room temperature (at a pressure nearer 1/10th of that at sea level, in case you were wondering) for a fresh and vivacious taste.

A Tale of Two Towns is one of our very favourite gins. Why, you ask? Well because members of our very own team contributed to it’s creation! The company brought together bartenders from across Edinburgh, and asked them to create a gin inspired by the city. The result combines flavours of shortbread, raspberries, lime cordial, lovage and carrot. And with a name that speaks to the dual nature of our beautiful Edinburgh, across New and Old Town, sampling this beautiful bevvy is a truly unique experience.
