April is peeking around the corner, and quite frankly, we’re ready for it. Longer days, a hint of sunshine (we’ll take what we can get in Scotland), and every excuse to swap the heavy layers for something a little lighter – preferably with a spritz in hand.
There’s something about this time of year that calls for a bit of spontaneity. One minute it’s a quick after-work drink, the next you’ve settled in for the evening – plates ordered, music playing, and that “just one more” energy in full swing. Spring has a way of bringing Edinburgh back to life, and we’re very much here for it – doors open, glasses chilled, and the Beer Palace ready to play host.
So, let’s have a little look at what’s coming up this April…
Bandeoke at Brewhemia – 3rd of April

Ever wondered what it feels like to headline the Beer Palace? This Easter weekend, you’re about to find out. On Friday, the 3rd of April, Bandeoke Scotland storms back into Brewhemia – this isn’t your avergae sing-song. No sad backing track. No hiding at the sides. This is you, centre stage, backed by a LIVE band. This is your moment (questionable vocals fully encouraged).
One night. One Stage. One chance to absolutely butcher Mr Brightside like you’re at T in the Park circa 2007.
From: 9pm-late
Price: Free entry – dining & drinks tables reservable for a bit of pre-karaoke Dutch courage.
Pop Icons! Drag Brunch – 4th April

Lights. Legends. Lip-syncs. And brunch with a bite.
On Saturday the 4th of April, we’re turning the volume up for a Pop Icons! Drag Brunch that serves a riotous fusion of bratwurst, bangers, and big divas. Our Scottish drag superstars are bringing the ultimate pop royalty to the stage – think the likes of Cher, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears – in a high energy, glitter drenched tribute to some of the women who shaped the soundtrack to our lives.
Expect big hair, bigger performances, and all the anthems definitely know every word to. From power ballads to dancefloor fillers. This is a sing-a-long, strut it out, napkin in the air kind of brunch – and one you’ll not want to miss.
From: 11am-1:30pm

The Easter Bunny’s Brunch – 5th April

Settle in for a hearty breakfast while Peter Rabbit hops across our three big screens, causing the usual mischief. Coffee? Sorted. Something sparkling? It’s Easter, treat yourself.
While you relax, our Brewhemian Easter Bunny will be busy leading egg hunts, hosting Easter crafts, leading games, and generally keeping the little hands wonderfully occupied. Expect laughter, glitter in places you’ll still be finding on Monday, fridge-worthy artwork, and plenty of photo-ops.

Frühlingsfest – 25th of April + 2nd of May

Frühlingsfest – 25th April + 2nd May
Our tale begins in 1884, when our founder, Rabbie Stewart, embarked on his first visit to Munich’s renowned Oktoberfest. Immersed in a vibrant atmosphere of steins, schnapps, and Bavarian spirit, he was captivated by the unique celebration. The following March, Rabbie returned to Munich and stumbled upon Frühlingsfest – a German festival dedicated to welcoming the arrival of spring. Inspired by the lively traditions and joyous spirit of Frühlingsfest, he knew he had to bring a piece of it home to Scotland. And thus, Brewhemia’s Frühlingsfest was born, blending Bavarian cheer with Scottish heart.
This year, our Frühlingsfest will be kicking off on Saturday 25th April with Fat Cat Brass! Plus we’re keeping the festivities going for two weeks through to Saturday 2nd May with Brassmix.
Our stages are stacked with incredible local talent from the Edinburgh music scene, bringing the perfect soundtrack to your supper and keeping the energy up well past “just one more.” Expect everything from laid-back acoustic sessions to big, belting singalongs – the kind that start as background music and end with the whole table joining in. Whether you’re in for dinner, drinks, or an accidental late one, our March line-up has your evenings covered.
